Q
I saw Alien on cable TV in the early 80s and was both horrified and fascinated by it.  By the time Aliens was released in 1986, I was already a big fan and saw it on opening day.

I watched them early also, with supervision though. For my recollection, read the last page.

Did you have any idea what you were in for at the time?

Found them on accident. Watched them because I wasn't supposed to.

Heck it was due to his movie that I found out AVP was a thing, which led me to play AVP2, thus making me get into the series.

I remember getting an influx of fans following AvP's release. We all come in at different places.  :)

Then that's probably the best thing that came from the film. Introducing fans to the franchise. I wonder down the road how many will be introduced from Prometheus.

2 or 3.

Give or take a couple.  ;)

I honestly don't know how much exposure Prometheus is going to maintain over time. Even AVP isn't just a film franchise, it's maintaining a pretty decent videogame history as well. And the original films are well known, as are the games. Sometimes I wonder if the prequels won't just slide under the radar and be doomed to some kind of niche status.
