It's kinda crazy that you're all jumping through hoops to rationalize a plot twist for a movie that doesn't exist yet!

What's REALLY going to happen is that it's actually RIPLEY in the suit. It's a hundred percent true because it's the only logical way this could go. You're just denying reality if you think otherwise.

Ripley in the space jocket suit? what? How can she be in the suit when she is in Nostromo?

Ridley Scott says the prequels are going to back up into the original Alien. Therefore, Ripley HAS to be the one in the suit.

banecat

lol what do you mean? ripley is in the nostromo as dallas, kane, lambert explore the derelict

acidreign

She can easily sneak out while they're not looking. How else does she know that the "distress signal" is not a warning? BECAUSE SHE'S THE ONE WHO SENT IT!

Thematically and logically it's the only thing that makes sense. Face it: Ripley is in the suit.

banecat

ah i see what you're doing, nice try troll

Honestly it's about as logical as half the nonsense people are spouting as fact around here

Like how David becomes the space jockey?

Don't get me wrong, I see the "reasoning" behind why people are jumping to that conclusion. For those disappointed that David has been revealed to be the creator of the aliens, making him turn out to be the space jockey would be an obvious way to twist the knife further. So of course everyone is automatically assuming that this is indeed what will happen in the next movie (that is, if the next movie even comes to pass).

The irony is that some here are already contorting themselves to logically justify this completely unconfirmed plot twist that they don't even want to occur. It's bizarre, to say the least.

banecat

i think it's a case of it being narrowed down to david, what with ridley scott seemingly intent on not returning to engineer lore

newagescamartist

No one in this thread is referring to any of this as fact. Speculation is fun.

Doctor Ash

I don't think David could have become the Space Jockey. The Nostromo Crew only found a petrified husk, not android remains.

I guess they would find something if it was David in there.

Maybe not so much on this thread but there are definitely a few posters who shall remain nameless on the Covenant forum treating "David is the Space Jockey" as a forgone conclusion.

I don't care if that's what someone believes, but it does get rather irksome when "I think this is what will happen" turns into "you're deluded if you don't think this will happen," which is definitely the vibe coming from some of these cats.

harlequinade

I think SJ really is going to be David if another movie is made. Why else show us that David hair grows....however impossible that is.

Ridley wants, Ridlet does

So what if he grows hair? He is still an android... a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. Not a human. No human organs.

What makes you so sure of that? Metal endoskeleton? No evidence of that. No human organs? - maybe, maybe not - artificial organs could be organic, or semi organic.
