In regards to the Kingslayer...

Spoiler
I think what he says is true, about the mad king that is. But I don't get why he is so attached to Brienne, maybe because she wasn't so evil as to cut off his hand when escorting him? But part of me thinks he is keeping her for some other reason, as a trump card maybe, because we are talking about the man that pushed a small boy out of a rather large tower.

Spoiler
He attached to Brienne because she never dropped her code of honour at the drop of a hat, as most knights in the realm are prone to do. He respects that. The corruption of knights is a theme of the books. He pushed Bran out of a window for utilitarian reasons: if Bran talked, then Jaime, Cersei, and their three children would have been executed. This likely would've started a war anyway: Tywin wouldn't take it. It's a skewed sort of logic presented with a sneer, but in the end he was looking to minimise damage, as he did with Aerys.

Just finished watching episode 8.

Spoiler
Finally we get to see another white walker...and why did Sam not pick up the Dragonglass!?

That's what I said! I was like, no! Go back you dumbf**k.

What I got out of it was ... he's still Sam, the scared, bumbling, screw up. He managed a great feat of heroism but his follow through was severely lacking. Baby steps I suppose!

I love how the characters (all of them) change ... evil f**king bastards become genuinely likable and pure hearted, noble spirits let themselves down the road of self serving ignorance and misplaced loyalties. None of these changes happens over night. I hope we get to see Samwell grow into a brave and component badass in the next few seasons.
Ehhh, I don't think Joffrey will ever be likeable. He has zero likeable traits.

Joffrey will never be likable, you are right. He was written to be the purest form of evil in seed form. Image the damage someone like him could reign down if allowed to grow up. I guess I should have said major assholes become genuinely likable because I certainly did not mean to imply Joffrey.

He isn't even likable in villain kinda way. He isn't dastardly cool, or sympathetically corrupted. He's just a sniveling, self rightous, coddled, psychopathic prick that you'd pay to watch being melted down into blonde jelly by a dragon before being snorted up and shitted out by a White Walker.

So many things I can answer (from the books) but I don't want to spoil anything. I will say (because lets be honest, its obvious) that little prick will get his comeuppance.

Spoiler
I felt like it was one of the more violent scenes in the books. A painful, public suffocating, groping and tearing at his own throat, ripping his own flesh, changing colors, everybody freaking out ... pandemonium.

I see your point.

It seems suffering and heartache is mostly reserved for the good people of Westeros.

I agree, especially after the carnage that was the red wedding I was really hoping for more out of revenge.  But after re reading the book and coming to terms with the RW, I realize it was a "good" end for him.  He suffers pretty good/badly however you want to look at it and is shown to be the scared little coward during it(but lets face it who wouldn't go to great lengths to continue breathing themselves), Cersei watches him die before her eyes and is powerless to stop it.

I don't like how Sam dropped the dagger in the show(because), but in the book it ends up destroyed anyways when he tries to use it against a wight.

Agreed on all counts. Which is of course a testament to the amazing job Jack Gleeson does portraying him. Gotta be difficult though in reality; playing a character that genuinely hateable has got to cause some unfortunate run-ins with people that treat you as they would the character.  :D
