Ice Cold Gold - season finale: Was ok, really wish they would have announced what the 20,000 carats of rubies they found ended up being after cleaning them up... oh well. 6/10

Using some recovery time to binge-watch the entire season. Very impressed, but honestly, HBO seems to be one of the only companies that understands if you let good writers loose to write real people, the greatness unfolds naturally.

People are so cray, the shit practically writes itself. It's an amazing show and I love the slow tone and the very, very subtle supernatural elements. It's the kind of tension built with a maturity and focus I haven't felt in damn years.

Sad that McConaughey isn't returning for Season 2 (and possibly not Harrelson,) but I hear each will be independent similar to American Horror Story. The characters are so strong and well-acted that to cast the same actors would have to strain them, and maybe whitewash the impact of their previous performances.

Anyway, good shit. Let the good writers through the gates and the shit will flow like the salmon of Capistrano.

Fox could learn a lot here.
