In Alien Covenant, the eggs were created through David's experiments. However, this would not necessarily lead to the annulment of a queen in the later films, as this species could certainly evolve.
The studio might also possibly require appropriate continuity.
Not sure if he would have ignored them. But the ultimate goal was to get it to line right up with the beginning of ALIEN. How successful that would have been is still unknown. But I can see it getting messier if they'd tried to do that.

I don't love watching long slideshows, even if the info is good. But that's all personal preference for me. I know I'm running a risk by using any footage, which kinda sucks with fair use laws and bad actors who falsely file claims. It's tough out there!

Some things: We know the Blomkamp project was under the code name Red Harvest. Not sure if it tied to anything in the films, but I think it was just a play on the Blue Harvest code name from Star Wars.
'Awakening' may have been the name, but I didn't have confirmation of that. It gets confusing when Ridley starts talking. It likely could have been, and maybe played into that the films following ALIENS were all a dream (how original). That is all speculation on my part though, as I was trying go figure out how he was going to go about retconning things. Was there going to be an acknowledgement of the other sequels? Or was he just going to outright ignore and erase them from the timeline? I'm not sure.
My sources all claimed Ridley's 3rd prequel was titled "ALIEN Destiny". They all referred to it by that name too, and we're deeply involved in the franchise. So I'll take their word for it over some internet speculation. Something I didn't put in the video, as it wasn't really relevant to the Blomkamp topic was that they we're going to shift the naming conventions of the films slightly by changing Prometheus to ALIEN: Prometheus to match ALIEN: Covenant and then the upcoming ALIEN: Destiny to make it more cohesive for the branding. This was shortly before the buyout, and when that went down, these plans were scrapped.

I am not sure if they overlapped at all. I really think Blomkamp's project wasn't all that far along and never had an actual start date for production. Anything that was made, he was pushing for on his own dime. And I'm not sure if Destiny really made it that far at all either. It sounded like they shut the idea down really quickly after Covenant's release, so anything Ridley ever said about it was him speculating as well.
I don't have info on Paradise Lost at the moment! I'm hoping to get more details whenever I can link up with some people involved with the franchise again in the future.
I'm not so sure... It was explained to me that this DNA stuff was part of his initial pitch. I completely forgot about the request to change something for Ridley, and I'll try to find out what that is when I see these folks again.

But as Nightmare Asylum pointed out, it was also brought up during the podcast interview with Eric Calderon and Dave Baker, who were involved in "Aliens vs Predator: Annihilation," the AVP anime.
This is something I was thinking about as well... Blomkamp's own comments start to contradict themselves. I understand his frustration with the cancellation of the project, but he seems to have let his ego get involved with some of that...
The thing about the actors wanting to be involved too, they may have really liked the ideas, but they may also not have the best judgement of what is good either. We're all human, and they could have easily been sold on the idea of a redo, while not really looking at the scope of the whole thing. I mean, Sigourney wanted Ripley to die in 3, and now she's saying it wasn't a great ending for her. So is she the best judge of quality? It's hard to say.
I don't know the whole plot front to back on the scriptment pitch, but there are more details that will hopefully come out as time goes on and I'll make a follow up if that's the case.
