in NOTLD scenario, i wouldn't even bother bulding protections. they seem to be unable to climb stairs, and a couple of lines of barbed wire would make them stumble for eternity until they tear themselves apart completely. that and some deeeep holes with spikes on them(im not trusting on them to get impaled, but to get crushed under the wave of lemming-like zombies constantly faling into this pit).
28Days later, shit, they starve right?, yeah, then there is no problem. they don't have supernatural strenght nor are undead, so if i just put broken glass on a field, they will run through it and bleed to death.
