Alpha Protocol comes to mind, Fallout: New Vegas and SW:KOTORII:TSL.
Obsidian can't seem to get their shit together on a triple A-title.

What the hell is Alpha Protocol? New Vegas didn't need mods either, they just make it better. Can't comment on Kotor II.

I love Obsidian's writing department, but nearly all the games they've released have been bug ridden messes that the PC community usually fixes.

They won't because they still have to cater to the peasants. Companies may half ass shit some times, but it won't be because they rely on mods. Games that are half assed won't even have a big enough fan base to rely on mods.
