I'm still sour and remember fondly the avp 2010 backlash over almost no ability to make user content. Concerning AVP2, I was under the impression the latency was too high to ever have a real game, and so people just play to mess around. Is this not the case?
Believe it or not, I have recreated AVP2 in a basic form as a hybrid VR/PC fully working Multiplayer game.
You have humans, alien, and a predator like character that can cloak and stuff that play on PC keyboard
and you can join as a human and play in VR for now
The only thing I need to fix is, so the VR player can also host a game. The VR player can join a PC game and play with PC players. This creates an interesting situation because picture being in VR hunting down an alien that can wall walk and hide in vents and crawl through stuff while you hear its foot steps.and an predator character that can hunt you. Playing with PC players in VR is interesting
I will put up a video soon of the online gameplay. But not much more needs to be done for a real avp vr experience. just a couple of small fixes that shouldnt take long. that hard part is finally over and I plan on celebrating one of these weekends with a VR gaming party to let people try it out
Im not the best map maker but I can hold my own, I was going t o ask maybe they were still around and wanted to make maps for the PC/VR hybrid game, maybe re-make SUK stronghold and some of the classic to be played in VR with PC players
