Openmaw didn't you say the friendlies were still in The Predator when I said for months it was the complete opposite and they had been cut ?
You WAFFLED on that
very point! Your posts are publicly available. Just barely over a month ago you said it was entirely possible they would
still be in the film.

Yeah lefty I was thinking a lot about it today , iv come to the conclusion they are in it , but get used as cannon fodder earlier on , and the captured kills them and maybe steals their gear hence why he is in the same mask , seems the logical step at this stage, and maybe that's why they were not featured in the trailers as they were deemed unimportant by Shane and fox as they are killed off early on. Of course I'm just speculating though !
That didn't even take me two seconds to find.

Not being funny but you do tend to jump the gun a bit.
No. I really do not. I go with the best evidence on hand. Shane Black stepped up his game and made the changes that needed to be made based on test screenings. Which I admitted and gave him kudos for. I have also been defending certain concepts regarding the film as more information has been forth coming. Having an open mind and being willing to change said mind when the facts are in hand is more intellectually honest than blind optimism supported by Jack and his good friend
shit.
I have always maintained that the hybrids, spiders, and the allied Predators were terrible and would need to be changed or excised completely to fix the utterly awful third act. I also maintained that the likelihood of those changes being put into effect this late it into the production was slim to none. I admitted that I was shocked and pleasantly surprised that they had.
I never once tried to pretend like I hadn't called that wrong. I was wrong. They did change it.
Do you not get how un-f**king-likely it is for a movie like this to get a total reworking of it's ending? That only happens when the audience reaction is
shockingly bad. As in, producers and executives having panic attacks and shitting themselves over all the invested cash going up in flames.

Fox still make a bunch out of the AVP franchise. Be it comics , hot toys , NECA , it goes on and on. A film that came out In 2004 night I add and it's still profitable .
They make money via low investment,
low risk,
"tertiary media." Comics, novels, and toys. That has always been where AVP has done it's best. The original AVP comic was one of the all time best selling comics ever.
Fox doesn't need to
make a movie and risk a multi million dollar budget when they can get some assholes to draw cartoons and mold plastic.

The film is not profitable. It barely broke the margins, which is why AVPR got a drastically reduced budget, and had a shorter filming schedule to boot.

And while you say it's only props , the fact of the matter is we havnt seen The Predator yet , and there could very well be more links in there, Black has already said this film is connected to all the others including AVP.
I'm not the one saying it. Black said there would be ties. We've been told that the spear from AVP is in there, somewhere. That's your connection to the AVP franchise. Your connection to Predator 2? Keyes son. Your connection to Predator? The original mask. OTHER connections as in other connections to the
other films. Predators (apparently) hasn't happened yet.

Judging by the failure of alien covenant , Fox are probably thinking about this very subject. It makes total sense business wise to make a follow up / reboot. The fact Shane Black has included some AVP elements should be telling you that.
No, it does not. It makes no sense to take on another high concept and risky venture like AVP when the first two films were the epitome of diminishing returns and met with scathing critical review. It forced the Predator franchise into soft reboot territory with "Predators" and it was only the incredible pedigree and pull of Ridley Scott that made Prometheus happen. Which was still done with a lot of cautious tip toeing by Fox. "It's an Alien film, without the Alien. It's going to be really classy like the original film, and nothing like those kiddy AVP films."
It doesn't tell me that there are any plans for a future AVP film. Nobody at Fox has indicated they are even
looking into the concept for another AVP film for the foreseeable future. NO ONE. We just got some insider information that indicates nothing is going on with the AVP side of the license on the big screen. ALIEN. Yes. Predator. Depends on
The Predator. Nothing. Nadda. Zilch. About an AVP film, and why would there be?

That A3 Fox intro needs to return. It would get the same reaction of hype from me as the first time I saw this return.

Agreed 110%. One of the greatest tweaks to a film company logo ever. It tells you everything you need to know about Alien 3. This is going to be a dark and depressing story.
