Wouldn't it be great if everyone had the exact same opinion!

I do to. It's more entertaining I find.

And I find Ripley's plight a hell of a lot more engrossing.

I personally prefer Aliens, but Alien 3 is not a bad film at all (quite good considering all the behind the scenes stuff), and I have respect for all involved for making a pretty good film despite all that stuff.

But Alien always has been, and probably always will be, my favorite.

I can understand someone prefering Alien 3 to Aliens as Alien 3 is more of a horror film and i undesrtand a lot of Alien fans don't like Jim Cameron's action/adventure take on the franchise. But if your more into horror films then Alien is the perfect horror film not Alien 3! As for Resurrection its really the Batman and Robin (1997) of Alien films! Of course until the AVP films came along!

Hardly. Resurrection is an interesting, well-made film in its own right--it just doesn't fit well with the original trilogy.

Hmmm, well, that floats my boat.

While I agree that Resurrection was an interesting film in it's own right, it does fail in it's most important aspect - being a sequel in the alien series.  This fail is so mind-boggling huge that unfortunately I personally can't look at it seriously without wanting to punch someone or something.

Not saying its as bad as Batman and Robin just saying it is the Batman and Robin of Alien films . Of the four it is the most campy and cheesy. While the first three films were much more serious.

'I feel broken.'

'f**k!'

'Don't run with scissors, dumbass!'

Rape Goggles.

Not to mention the 'cigarettes' in the AC. And other things I cannot recall at the moment.

Oh yes, Alien3 is so much more serious and lacking humor than Resurrection.
I personally don't have any problems into accepting the latter as an Alien sequel.

It's not that it lacked humour. A film can be serious yet still have funny moments. It's that the overall tone of the fourth film went much beyond simply having a few jokes; the entire film felt like a joke.

Resurrection was supposed to have dark humour. It just turned out to be stupid.
