Yesterday I started RE: Rev. I just killed that asshole with the chainsaw in the cafeteria. Its clearly visible that the game is port from the 3DS, they didn't bothered much to replace the textures with better ones. But this is not a big deal. The game jumps from good to bad and from bad to good all the time. Why there's someone running along with me in 99% of the time if there's no coop campaign? I don't want a "coop" AI buddy in my RE game if I am playing singleplayer. Its great immersion breaker. On top of that the guy who's partner with Jill is one of the worst characters in the video games history. Also the new chick who's with Chris is like a fashion model and not a BSAA operative. Look at this
who's dressing like that if he's going on top secret mission with high possibility of enemy engagement? Its more like a dress for the fashion channel. Its not a gameplay breaker but still - poor art decision. And speaking of poor art - the enemies so far are just terrible. Every creature looks exactly the same as the previous one. With the zombies is different because at least they have different outfits. And those creatures are far from scary. They are more funny or even retarded than scary. But after my encounter with the regenerators back in RE4 I doubt I will get scared from RE game just like that anymore.
I really like the returning of the "open world". Its great to have it and that the levels are not just straight corridors. I like that when you open your inventory and the game stops. I like the way I can upgrade my weapons. The controls and the movement are nice and fluid. I didn't liked the Genesis part. Its like they wanted something completely different but they scrapped that idea and just left it there just for the sake of it. Its either that or just another false gameplay longevity element used by the devs these days. At first its nice but it gets boring quickly.
Overall the game is WAY BETTER than RE6 and ORC. I am willing to believe its better than RE5 too. Its a real cool game even with its flaws but its a handheld game after all and for a handheld game its a masterpiece.
