PHANTOM

That interview was music to my ears, looks like Fox is finally aware they are the problem and they really need to clean up their act before they scare off the real talent.

Cellien

Well if it's awful, no one to blame but themselves.  :P

PHANTOM

I'm feeling pretty relaxed with this movie, I really don't have to convince myself that it's going to be good.

Big named actors, a talented director, a talented producer and a solid Predator story. It's got all the elements that make a good film.

Unlike the AVP films, it sounded bad, it looked bad and it had a bad crew right from the start. You had to convice yourself that it wouldn't be bad, when deep down inside you kind of knew it was lol. If there was anytime to get excited, it would be now. Just saying.

I'm pretty excited about the movie, but the Casino Royale line worries me because I didn't actually like that movie. :(

I think he meant that the action scenes will be very real, and little CGI involved. Not sure though.

good im not a big fan of CGI most of the time as it normally looks pretty bad and the characters look like they have no weight in their movements i hate it when the use it for gor as well it just looks downright silly

chupacabras acheronsis

CG gore only looks good for flying limbs and background characters.

yeah, this interview was nice, and we know that fox is trying to make up for their mistakes.

Wow, I saw AVP-R at Sony IMAX theater!

It had a giant screen! The sound system was freakin insane loud lol!

It was packed with people! And everyone was freakin the hell out! When the movie was done everyone clapped and cheered it was so great lol. This time I envited all of my friends and my family to see it, everyone loved it, I was totally blown away by the force of the film, it was so crazy I would just laugh watching everyone go "OHHHH!" "AHHH!" "woow!" lol ;D

When the credits rolled my friend yells out very loud "get to da choppa!" Bahaha! Everyone had lots of fun, this was nothing like watching Paul Andersons film bro. When I saw AVP nobody reacted to it at all, a couple of people left and no one really had a good time. AVP-R was a completely different story, everyone walked the theater like "wow did you see that?!" "Dude that movie was crazy!," everyone loved it. It was a great experience. Even my mom got excited when she saw the PredAlien fighting The Wolf bahaha! Watching her jump in her seat was so funny.

The brothers did one hell of job! This movie rocked! When the rooftop scene came I felt my heart beat increasing like if I was watching Aliens. Oh and the movie wasn't dark anymore, it was extremely sharp and very clear, everything was perfect this time. The sound system was so good that when ever any action would go on it felt like a f**king earth quake, muahahaha!!!

After watching AVP this time with a full house, at one of the biggest and best theaters you go too, I'm going to give my final score to the film right now.

Drum roll please................

Solid 8/10 Colin and Greg....You da man 8)

Btw, anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, please take my advice! Go see the film at the best theater you can find, don't see it a crappy theater. If your lucky like me and have a IMAX theater Trust me go to that one!

???

Guess a couple of years can make a difference.

I think he was referring to Casino Royale as a direct comparison to Roger Moore's Bond films.  Whether you liked Casino Royale or not I would assume you'd agree that it's style is much more serious and gritty than the relatively cheezy exploits of Moore's bond (and I would argue pretty much every other bond film).  Casino Royale, imo, was a good re imagining of the Bond universe and I believe that from RR's point of view this is the same style of re-imagining from Predator 2, AVP and AVP R (though I liked P2).

Awesome :D You've been waiting to play that card for years  ;D

SM

Not quite that long.  ;D

I was just curious about how people (in general - not just PHANTOM) frequently shitcan the AvPs now, but liked them at the time.

Nothing wrong with changing one's mind of course, but it is amusing that many will say "I knew it was going to suck all along", when in reality they were loving it.

Well we all know what happens when fox has too much imput on the franchise be it the Alien movies or the Predator Movies. I just hate this film to be another AVP flop.

I whana watch this new Predator film knowing it's gonna be a classic in 10 years time. I whana remember funny lines like "Get to the choppa" and stuff.

I hope fox gives Ridley Scott the same kind of freedom for the new Alien movie.

You're 2 for 2 buddy.

For Predators, Fox basically said: "Here, Robert. Take the 40 million, do whatever you want with it. Protect us from ourselves."

For the Alien Prequel, well, it IS Ridley Scott. He can do whatever he wants ablahblah NOW before I hear some psycho-babble bullshit on how the studio interfered with Kingdom of Heaven(Don't think you're smart or witty for bringing it up), did you ever stop to think that since they kissed his ass and refused to settle for another director, that they will let him do his thing...or did you stop and think(Yes...think) that, oh I don't know, since he IS the director of the original Alien, that he uh, you know, is going to direct the prequel, that he knows it better than everybody else?

they are pretty much saying all the right things. if it holds true in the film, this could be what everyone here has been waiting for

we were all thinking the same thing 3 years ago with the bros. and look how that turned out. but i have alot more faith woth these guys. and if rodreguz had alot to do with the production and stuff it will be good.

QuoteWhat is it that you think the last few cinematic iterations of Predator  may have lacked that you wanted to restore for Predators?

Nimrod Antal: I think the hunt, and suspense. Trying to take it back to what works in classic horror films and trying to keep the monster in the shadows as opposed to throwing him in your face right off the bat. I think if you look at the timeline on the first film, you have I think 40 minutes into the film was the first time you see the cloaked Predator. So I think we concentrated in trying to bring that back into it, and I think we were successful.

You can't do 40 minutes now, though, can you?

Antal: No, and we don't. We handle it a little bit differently, and you're introduced to something early on.

First glimpse of an extraterrestrial in AVP came when the first Predator appeared about 30 minutes in.

Director Fail.

Quote
The footage you screened included music cues from James Horner's score, but the trailer indicates that John Debney is composing the score. How much of the music will reference or draw upon the original themes?

James Horner?! ALAN SILVESTRI.

Interviewer Fail.
