One thing I could not understand is that there are so few pictures of him out of costume. He was in Hollywood for awhile, so why so few pics?

Stuntmen don't really get big recognition. It's much easier for them to stay below the radar.

Plus, from what little I've picked up from comments about him made by his co-workers over the years, staying out of the limelight would probably have suited him.
