While I may give the original a slight edge over this remake, Herzog really did a stunning job here. I'm not entirely sold on the ending, but the rest is great.

Klaus Kinski going nuts in full vampire makeup is worth the price of admission alone.

I've seen the original. I never knew there was another. That's definitely going on the list.

There's actually two more that are supposed to be coming in the near future. A Robert Eggers directed film, and a crowd funded green screen thingy starring Doug Jones as Orlok... which has gone years with very little in the way of updates, so I feel sorry for the backers.
