I haven't read that much with them, pretty much just The Thanos Imperative. But they do sound impressive.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celestial_(comics)#Powers_and_abilities

QuoteThe Celestials were capable of reducing the Asgardian construct known as the Destroyer to slag even when the Destroyer was imbued with the life force of all the Asgardian gods (with the exception of Thor);[11] move planets at will;[12] and contain, create, and seal off entire universes.

Nightmare Asylum

Huh. I'd say that's a bit impressive.

With the realms...some of them are afterlife ones, like Hel, and of course Valhala. BUt there's another one that's essentially purgatory. Then there's the dwarf place, the light elves, and the dark elves. And at least one other, besides the three they already showed.

Assume all you like, but as far as what they said...they claim they'll be showing all the other realms.

Since Asgard, and presumably the afterlife realms, all seem to be non-planet kinda places...Midgard may well be earth and it's solar system...or the galaxy. Dunno. But it almost seems more like a dimensional thing than planetary.

Who said it? And where?

Jeeeeez, you're the guy who checks comicbookmovie every five minutes, I'm sure you've seen it!

Kevin Fiege:

Quote"We're going to take Thor literally to other worlds -It will primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds."

or read it:

QuoteSo while the relationship between Loki and Thor certainly has changed and has progressed, a lot of Thor 2 is picking up where it left off in terms of Jane, who you just saw for a moment on a computer monitor, and also what's been going on in the nine realms without the Asgardians being able to use the Bifrost?

Please save these links as I will most likely reference them again, and you will think I'm making it up.

Thanks. And no, I didn't think you were making things up, but it sounded like something that could easily be misinterpreted based on how the quoted person worded it. And there's nothing really there that definitely states that we're going to see all the Nine Realms. Taking Thor to new worlds could just as easily mean that we will see one or two of them and finding out what's been going on in the Nine Realms doesn't mean they're going to travel there.

I guess telling us what's been happening in most of them is better than showing us.

I can't find another one, but it was before they announced the title of the movie, where ...it may have been the director, was saying we would literally see each realm not shown in the original, as well as expanding on Asgard more.

If it means saving some of the mystery for another movie, it might just be. And since we don't know what's been going on in the realms, it seems a little early to judge on whether it's best to show or tell.

Movies are always better to show not tell. That's one of the rules. Just think of an action sequence from one of your favorite movies, and now picture the main character describing it to you instead.

I'm not talking about an action sequence here. Something like "what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds" could be Odin saying something like "If we don't stop this or that bad guy here, war/disaster/disease/other horrible things are going to spread across the Nine Realms.". Just an example, but we don't know.

Sounds awesome. I loved the Asgardian/Frost giant battle in the Thor prologue, so this one should be a ton of fun as well.

EDIT: Article is about Ant-Man, but there's a nice tease on the bottom that Sif is going to be getting a new costume :)
