I'm not an expert, but I have a hard time believing this. Any level of radiation sounds dangerous to me.

I am interested in everyone's thoughts on Rodman's behavior.  My theory, he can't handle being yesterday's news and grasping at any media sensationalism available to him for attention.   His missions have been anything but humanitarian.  Does anyone honestly accept his apology?  No me.

We are constantly being bombarded by radiation from cell phones, radio towers, and from Wi-Fi... quite dangerous levels too. If residual radiation from F*kushima was in the California region, There would be reports of birth defects and other malignant conditions.

Lol, this guy is still active? I figured the embarrassment he suffered in WCW was enough to shove him back into a corner.

Was that before or after he married himself at Times Square?   :D

What do you think is real, his apology to the USA or the one to North Korea?

Honestly, I don't care one way or the other. It's his life, leave him be. I don't understand why the media is so interested in him anyway. Aren't there more important things in the world right now?

I don't know about any Times Square incident, lol.

It was about ten years ago, he wore a white wedding gown and everything.

As far as his antics with North Korea, the "live and let live" mentality is hard to do after the recent events with NK.  Not only are they holding an American citizen in a prison, consider the inhumane treatment Kim does to his own people.   It is difficult not to cringe at Rodman's drive for personal attention by using NK to get it.  Just my thoughts at least.

Yes but you get more radiation from eating a banana than you do from fukishima on the west coast. Far less than a single X-ray, and just flying commercially exposes you to more radiation than anything I just mentioned. We inject radioactive particles into people's brains sometimes just to scan them. You also can't go into space unless you're willing to accept a bombardment of small particles normally blocked by the atmosphere that will pass right through the hull of the ship, through your dna, and back out into space without you seeing or feeling any of it.

Standing outside on a sunny day exposes you to stronger radiation than what you experience with small electronics. Although you definitely don't want to live near and especially under large power lines. If you can hear them buzzing, that's the calling card of a carcinogenic area.

That's encouraging but I'd bet good money that anyone you show this to will be screaming "conspiracy".

Cellphones and things like that primarily transmit and receive radio and microwaves, both of which are physically too large and lacking in energy to chemically or physically alter your DNA. Those waves are literally longer than your DNA molecules.

Mock Mission To Mars

http://www.space.com/24174-mock-mars-mission-questions-wanted.html

Mock missions are great in theory, but the data will be too diluted to be completely useful in a real mission.  In the back of their minds they know they are still on Earth and can go home. The view they see everyday is of Earth, there is a familiarity to it (snow, sunset, rocks, etc).  On Mars it will be completely different.

There is also a psychological factor.  Can they really live with these people in cramped quarters traveling for a year and a half through space, then in tiny modules in an unfamiliar land facing unknown challenges everyday with limited support from Earth? There will need to be a rescue ship on standby.

Honestly, unless they create a large dome with the same climate, view, and mock travel to Mars; they might just be wasting their time.

It's a start. At least if the actual mission ever happens, they might have a better idea of what to expect.
