Wait, you talking about facehugger or David ?

The facehugger that jumps on him.

A creature of this size would affect the host's lungs as it grows and cause death before it is fully grown.

It wouldn't kill the host, but it would affect their ability to breathe. They'd wake up with a bad case of asthma.

The kid shouldn't have been alive given the size of the chestburster versus his chest cavity size. His lung should have been crushed.

That's correct.
However, if you really think about it, the whole chestburster thing is generally illogical.
A creature of this size would affect the host's lungs as it grows and cause death before it is fully grown.
But it's a film and so it doesn't matter.

I miss the old strategic Rainbow Six games. Planning ahead the route for your AI teammates provided various ways to accomplish each mission. And the AI teammates had specific roles that they specialized in, which provided good cooperation. It was fun to play again and again due to the variety of ways to do the missions. Rainbow six: Rogue Spear also had different camera views for the replays. This provided good cinematic videos.
