Even Sam Keith got some redemption on the art front, with his work on Inhuman Condition (which is one of the very best of Dark Horse's output IMO).

The art was rubbish on that too. It just had better writing that Earth War.

No, it wasn't the better part of the story. I'm saying the story is so fundamentally broken and deranged that having a more sensible form of hybrid like the failed clones in Rez would have felt out of place, because there's not even an Alien or Predator narrative there to improve on.
