I mean, if I remember correctly, in one of those comics Predator was just killing nazis, how it is supposed to be offensive or controversial?

I suspect the Nazi censorship is more to do with the fact it's illegal to show the swastika in Germany, and they didn't wanna edit the story or publish a different edition just for them.

So with that one I kinda get it, even if I still think it's a crappy move.

Oh, I'm always forgetting about this stupid law in Germany. It's not like not showing it in works of fiction will change history. But yeah, it makes sense, kinda.

I don't understand why you'd acquire an IP and then make moves to increase aftermarket sales of the previous owner's still existing products within that IP. It's not like they're losing money, but at this rate I can probably make $200 off of my used literally falling apart DH Predator Omnibus Vol 2 book.

I'm doubly disappointed because I always said I'd only start collecting the comics if someone put together properly comprehensive collections, which up until this point Marvel had been doing.

I was looking forward to this Omnibus... but these days, I'll admit, I am rather annoyed by Di$ney. I don't like fiddling around in books to make them digestable for 'modern audiences', and this includes omitting certain issues. Actually, on second thought... yeah, Di$ney obviously doesnt want my money. Will NOT buy this omnibus. :-/

Aren't humans often the real monsters, or at least still monstrous? Is slavery not the greatest evil, and still with us today, in places like Africa, the Middle East, and China? Was not National Socialism one of the greatest evils of the 20th-century?

They are on the precipice of removing the Yautja altogether from their own series. An intelligent, advanced humanoid race that brutally murders humans, and also at times rapes them to death with facehuggers for their own hunting pleasure? And wasn't the game reserve using humans as slaves, or something very close to it?

Outside of Predator vs Wolverine, I don't think Marvel has done too good of a job in publishing the Alien-Predator comics. It feels too safe, too sanitized in so many ways. I mean even when the characters curse, it's always the jumbled text that goes "Bring it you ugly f@&*!"

Dark Horse, early on fully unleashed and embraced the expletives but the over the years... seriously toned them down (I have no idea why they did but... they did). But as far as I know, words like Hell, Damn, and Shit were still present.

Marvel? Way too safe, way too sanitized from what I've seen.

And they're publishing an IP which has had controversial material through out it's entire run in the films, games, comics and books. And they're afraid of publishing a story which has the Predator killing Nazis? Who are they trying to avoid offending?

Again, in that instance I suspect it has nothing to do with them being "afraid" and everything to do with the legal situation in Germany.

The other comics being cut sounds like it's all on Marvel.

Nobody's perfect!

I mean... I know there were some Alien-Predator stories which weren't good that Dark Horse did. I mean off the top of my head, I can think of maybe... Aliens: Lovesick, Predator: Strange Roux, Predator: Homeworld (if only cause of the art), and the Xenogenesis run.

As to which ones entertained, is subjective!

But Marvel has this weird "Human Supremacy!" approach with their Predator stories and has Theta effectively one-shotting each Predator she comes across, and I just do not find that entertaining.
