I'd have to say the AvP 99 aliens were the most lethal, cunning, and left a lasting impression on me. I was never big on the comic book style of AvP2, and while the AvP 2010 aliens have the benefit of a next gen engine, and have a great design in their own right, their AI leaves a lot to be desired as others have said. They didn't feel nearly as hostile and engaging as they should.

In simple terms of playability, AvP2 had the best aliens for me. Though really, they didn't play that much differently from AvP1, and I simply played more of AvP2 so there's my answer.

I was kinda annoyed at the changes made to the aliens in AvP3. Felt too restricted and console-oriented.
