Been awhile since I posted in this thread. With that said, Fugitive's major issue is indeed his mouth. No clue what the disconnect is between concept to execution, but if the mouth was done correctly, I would no zero issues with his design. Im fact, I love most everything else about him. His skin coloring and details, his unique Bio. Even the rest of his head, eyes, etc. Looks great.

It's literally just that horrible mouth. And I agree his head is a tad too big.

Yeah the ADI unmasked heads grew in size from AvP to The Predator, into that top heavy, bobble-head, do Predators have necks? look. They looked their best from the side, but from the front? Oofa. :-\

It Is interesting though that the shot above with the Fugitive appears to have a much better structured mouth than the actual screengrab below:

Ironically, the cg head of the Assassin/Upgrade was smaller in size with much better proportions.

More than likely, the one of the person in the chair is wearing a non animatronic mask. It seems only that one, seen on screen in closeups has those really bad loose flaps/extra skin alot of ADI mask suffer from.

In fact, every post Stand WInston/Predator 2 mask have all suffered from 'can't figure out Stan's Mouth Skin" issues, including KNB.

I didn't see much of a flap problem with KNB.

ADI on the otherhand.... oy...

KNB > ADI  All day long for me.

I'm just gonna come out here and say it, I think ADI are among the very worst in their field. Alien 3 was an absolute fluke.

I didn't say I didn't see any. Yes, when comparing ADI and KNB, again I'll say "I didn't see much of a flap problem with KNB." And I still don't. Not like ADI's awkward rolls and pencil holders.  :)

City Hunter is my favorite. I always liked the skin pattern and design of his armor. And he has those horns on his mandibles.

I agree about the need for change, ADI had their shots, and although they improved a bit since AVP, it's still very unsatisfying to say the least... I would love to see Legacy for the next movie ! KNB why not, but I wasn't thrilled either with their work on Predators.

For the designs, City Hunter's mask > Jungle Hunter's mask
Jungle Hunter's face > City Hunter's face

...And a perfect draw for the rest  :P

It's all bad, and definitely does not pass the smell test. None of them actually created a mouth that emulates the originals correctly. Those bits of skin between the mandibles do not sag, crinkle or slope in anyway on Stan's original designs. Like our mouths, they are tight and elastic. Not rolls of Bologna.

I disagree with this notion. They know what they are doing. Alot of their choices specifically with the Predators seems to be intentional, and not due to lack of ability.
They also seem to have a desire to always want to reinvent the wheel, and not simply replicate the work. This desire seems to get in the way of simply adhering to the design language established by it's creator while also doing something unique with yours.
This applies to the Aliens franchise and Predator. They have yet to actually replicate the original designs. This is a choice. A weird one, but a choice none the less.

Predator still top tier.

partial to Berserker in Predators, though.

I like the masks in AVP.. the rest of the suit? No.

Elder in AVP even had a pimp cape  Clown movie.

I'm a little more forgiving about the mandible positioning, if the skin is right. Winston gave us two dynamically different Pred designs, each with different mandible resting positions.

What was consistent was the skin holding it all together. Tight like a tiger.
