It aspires to be one of the best sci-fi films of all time. I can see where some would say it's up there. It's damn great, but comes up short in the follow through.I wish they had been granted the budget for that 3rd act so we didn't have to sit through a stretched out 2nd that just sort of ends with a conclusion that feels like it was invented by a couple guys over pizza who just had to come up with something.
