Nope..... it's mostly based on designs by a famous Final Fantasy concept artist.

Advent Children?

Advent Children was a cg flick.. this one is traditional animation...

This film is the result of a colaboration between a Final Fantasy designer and a celebrated anime movie director.. (who has a preference for scifi flicks co-starring basset hounds)

the designer has a very striking visual style... often seen as "gothic/romantic/fantasy".

It's a 1985 flick.

It has very little dialogue.. and is mostly a surrealist piece.

Angel's Egg.

Total masterpiece that is in my top 10 films of all time.

that is correct. Cvalda takes the lead. (Wouldnt go so far as calling it a masterpiece.. but it's definitely a very unique flick.)

Trailer for those interested in the flick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r04X-ImELzc#

How dare you >:( :P It's a profound work of visionary genius and Mamoru Oshii's first real masterwork.
