Not a fan as such, but don't dislike them.
One thing I've found with the old school heavy rock/ metal vs more contemporary bands, is that the lead singer in the newer stuff often doesn't have any 'balls' in his voice. It's not that they can't sing, it's just that there's no grunt behind the vocal. One example would be Disturbed. Someone posted a cover of Land of Confusion, and if you want to do a metal version of that song, you need to try and out-metal Phil Collins on the vocal - and questions need to be asked when what should be a simple job isn't done.
I don't find that with more 'classic' bands like Priest, Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden or even Metallica.
