Haven't started reading yet so can't really comment on the actual plot, but yeah I would be happier if it followed the story of the books. Still I decided to give it a chance.

I liked it too. Sadly from the concept stuff it seems like it was drastically scaled back from what they planned, but it's still fun with some great moments in the Marine campaign. I just wish they hadn't settled for constantly recycling the same 6 singleplayer maps
