This is a question that has been floating in my head for a while now. How does an alien queen produce offspring without a male alien. Don't animals need to mate so they can have offspring? Can anyone help me out?

Vader the White

The queen produces an egg. Also a chicken produces an egg. Without a host, the egg is useless and no aliens a born. For the chicken, without a rooster to fertilze the egg, the egg is nothing but yolk.

That is correct. The alien species doesn't have males because their genetic diversity comes from their hosts.

She could be like a hermaphradite  lol?

On Earth, there is a species of lizard that is entirely female (lesbianism in nature lol).  They reproduce basically by cloning themselves.  So you don't need a male for a species to survive.  Although it cuts down on the genetic diversity.

Of course, the aliens are different as they obtain their dna from hosts (as has been pointed out).  The only other organism that can compare is viruses, who can obtain dna from hosts and transfer them to other hosts.

Star fish can also reproduce A-sexually.
