This was for the film's 10th anniversary re-release in 1989, and by then, fans already knew what it looked like.

That's all good and well, but what about the people who hadn't seen it?

They be S.O.L.

So many of us wish we had that Holy Grail.
Great costume.  :)

I'd rather have the Predator costume. Would probably be easier to move around in.

It's an AvP Alien, but I like this one:

The designs' really not that bad.

I am certain that this has already been posted, but it is still a very good render.

It is a nice render, but I don't think it should have been a movie poster because it shows the creature. Better to leave the eventual image to the audience's imagination until it makes its first appearance.

I disagree. Watch any other horror movie or space movie from the 70s and you'll see that the monsters and creatures looked so silly that you cant help but laugh rolling on the floor. After all, the intial version of alien was this

With a poster like that, the audience at least knows that its not gonna be a giant frog or a lizard in a silver suit or a walking eyeball, and thats its something really original and terrifying

All the more reason to not show it. It's something the audience has never seen before.

But its in the shadow and youll still eager to see it when watching a movie, and this way at least you know that the monster wont be a dissapointing or ridiculous and that its something new and special
