Agreed. The carapace added contrast to the Alien design. The smoothness of the shell at odds with the exquisite surface detailing of the suit.

I adore the original design and it has been growing in my favor over the years more and more, but I will never be able to say that the Aliens head is any less beautiful IMO. Just a matter of taste I guess.

Yes, James Cameron's aliens are on par with the original and clearly derived from the original, minus the skull.
