That's actually a gargoyle atop a church in the UK or Ireland somewhere.

Not from medieval times though, I think that's a modern restoration job.

It's Paisley Abbey (about 12 miles west of Glasgow in Scotland), the 12th century Gothic church. Alien gargoyle was erected/redone in the 1990s.

According to Rev. Birss, 12 of the abbey's original 13 gargoyles were completely redone in the early 1990s, and the unknown mason working on this particular piece might have been partly inspired by the ALIEN films... or maybe the image was just floating around in his mind at the time.
