I've seen someone install red LEDs into the head of a Kenner Alien, inside the eye orbits of the skull. 

Did it glow in the dark?  LOL  Sure did.  Luminous green skull with red eyes. 

Sacrilege to some.  Very amusing to myself. 

I've also seen eyes painted directly into the sockets.  I may have posted an image of that here... somewhere.  lol.
