I really want to watch Hellriser but I can't bring myself to do it.

Why not?

I'm not really into gore and from what I've read there's a lot of it in Hellraiser.

There would have been even more but Barker refuses to re-instate the footage-graphic hammer attacks on victims.

Actually I was pleasantly surprised by Inferno (the fifth one, I think). I remember enjoying it a lot, although I may have been numbed by the fact I'd just watched 3 and 4 right beofre it

That picture showcases many of the design choices that I hate. The pumpkinhead-ness of it, the fleshy & sinewy details, the tail fin, the hands, its such a watering down of giger's design. It's how the alien became a generic monster.

ADI has talked in interviews about how the fleshy look is a refinement of Gigers creature when it really just strips away all the biomechanical aspects. Now it's just pumpkin head with an elongated head and no eyes.

That design won't be seen again though, and ADI are well aware of fan's complaints.

I do wonder what design will be like if ADI work on Alien 5, however.
