Here's a random screenshot I grabbed today from Alien vs Predator. I plan on going through ALL the Alien movies eventually. It's a work in progress.

Ahh.  Both those men left quite the legacy that will never be matched.

May they both Rest Peacefully.

I find Giger's artwork so hard to look at. It disturbs me in a way nothing else ever has. I know that's the entire point, but still...

An incredible creature design still unmatched nearly 40 years later.Must have been mind-blowing for the actors to have seen it for the first time on set.

He is most certainly missed. A one of a kind & there'll never be another like him. Now in hindsight, I regret giving away my Giger Alien book that was full of concept art & other awesome drawings/production pics. At least it went to another major fan but still, I do NOT like losing anything Alien related. I will replace that book one day.

His art is is impossible for me to look away from, it's as memorizing and captivating as it is horrific.

I feel his art design should have been embraced more in the aliens films and should have been omnipresent in Prometheus. Its tragic that this wasn't the case.

I absolutely agree.  Giger's designs were at the core of what made the Alien series so horrific.  Without them, or if the creature was some blob, the film would not have been memorable, nor would it have spawned a whole franchise.  It was just dumb to disintermediate Giger from any work in the latter films.  Now the opportunity is forever lost.  It's why I am such a supporter of Blomkamp's film involving Ripley and Hicks.  It is the last chance that we will have to get an Alien film with these actors in it.  One might discount Michael Biehn's contribution, but it is rare that a sequel is actually better than the original, and while my own personal jury will be forever out on this matter, there are many that say Aliens topped Alien in many ways.  To not take this opportunity while it is still available would almost as bad as turning the back on Giger.

I also love the paint job that he did, making things look so organic, so alive. While ADI only understand how to make things look alive by making them a slimy flesh and muscle, Giger actually did an unmatched job with paint job. Both the original alien and Sil had this organic look, sort of bruised skin with black veins. You cant see it that well on this pic but  thats the only pic I can think of off the top of my head
