Cunningham sculpted both the maquette and the rod puppet...

So I guess he had the final word on the design, obviously supervised by the ADI duo.

Danke. So he did one of the most loved designs in the series and one of the most reviled as well (Newborn).

Talented dude. Wish he got to direct Neuromancer.. alas!

(I wonder if it was him that introduced the fleshier neck design on Alien 3... because that seems to fit his sensibilities.. all his Alien designs out of film concept work are sort of fleshy.)

Some nonfilm related Alien art by him:

Not sure now but it stemmed from a Google search for`Dicken's creature work and that one appeared amongst a lot of the Doug McClure films dinosaurs he did.

It's one of the mauvais-gen polaroids. You can see more in here: http://alienseries.wordpress.com/2012/10/21/the-eighth-passenger/

I seen this while looking for something completely un-Alien related.

Are you sure it's one of the mauvais-gen polaroids I might it was something that Giger or someone he knew took from the same general time or when Giger visited Dicken's "witch house" . The Mauvais Gen polaroids all seem to be black and white and none of them feature this exact image in either colour or black and white. And what is more in the colour photo, he was dressed differently

He certainly did seem to be drawing those sorts of neck designs in his various Alien illustrations

I'm speaking out of my arse (blame Xmas); the image is also in Giger's Alien Diary, so, it's probably one of his own.
