The first one was already the best in terms of design. It will never be topped.
It all comes down to the actor not playing it like a blundering animal but as something with true menace.

That's the problem I have with some of you here. Like there's some issue with doing something different.

With the right director and crew, anything can be scary. It doesn't have to be the exact same thing as the original, from now until forever to be scary, or successful.
