Is that by Dorman?

Not sure but it looks like his art style. It reminds me of the covers to Aliens Genocide.

No way, looks more like Pardee.
But I think it's by Jonathan Way$hack.

Here's a little more to that shot.

Dude. That was so awesome. Why did they cut it? Did Ridley think it showed you too much of the creature or something? It's incredibly terrifying, especially that it's-looking-right-at-me-shit-your-pants moment at the end there.

A nice, living description of everything modern creators seem to miss about the Alien, in any media form.

Probably. I don't think there's another shot in the film that reveals so much. I agree, it's a pretty awesome shot all the same.

Are we so sure it's rare? I'd have to see the movie again but that part just looks like a really really really slowed down part when Ripley is almost at the shuttle then BAM there's an alien!

The video I mean.

Seems to be. Different angle and mirrored.

Just remembered that too.

Yea, if you un-mirror it and speed it up it seems like something that has always been in the movie as far as I can remember.

Yep. It's the shot that follows Ripley up against that wall with the really intense strobe. She then starts to back away down the hall she came as the music ramps up.

It fits with the musical cue starting at 4:07.

I f**king love that track. My favourite out of the score.

I wish we got a slower scene in the film... it slowly rising from fetal position is fantastic.

That was, awesome. They should play that in haunted houses at theme parks.

No, it's not a scene from the film, it's one of the alternative takes on the corridor scene. In the film it's a much closer shot (chest and head) and a slower turn, but a quicker shot.

Reckon.  It's blows the 'guy in the suit' thing too early.

Which was re-used in Aliens.

Right when Queeny pops her head round the ladder as they're about to board the elevator, if I'm not mistaken.

Would have worked better in silence, like when the inner mouth is seen to slowly extend and retract, later on.

The fixation on showing as little as possible was probably why it was deleted, but who can say?

Still intrigued at the missing footage which supposedly shows it transforming from a Giger-like box, as curiously shown in the original comic adaptation. The writer of it swore that he saw it in what he was screened.

I think that's true for a lot of people back then. Before the days of the internet where you can analyse in frame by frame.

I've heard people say they swear the alien has six appendages in the scene where it attacks Brett.
