Where do you find these wonderful pictures...? :o
I will never tell.

Spoiler
Through the DVDs and relentless Googling, mostly.

I always assumed the Queen in Aliens is only several weeks old. The Queen in AvP would have been much older. Who knows how much more they grow during thier life span. I mean they go from Chestburster to full grown in a matter of hours. In AvP2010 game '6' went from Praetorian to Queen and was still considerably smaller than the Ancient Queen, soo.....

This of course works as an explanation, but takes away from real life. From what I know, the Queen of Aliens was roughly as many times bigger as an adult warrior as insectal queens from workers/drones in real nature

Anyway

Like this pic?  Plus, I am not sure what you meant by 'real life'.

or..

I have seen 1:1 scale at AvPX at dreamworld and the bitch is huge.

I mean in entomology. After all, aliens are based on insects. In entomology, Queens arent that much bigger than the regular workers, Aliens seems to follow the real life rule, AVP does not

Honestly, Insects don't cross their DNA with hosts, either.
Let there be some creativity. :P

The promethius post says the aliens born from pilots will be bigger. This leads me to believe thier size is a direct result of the host.

Yep the size does matter.

Just don't ask how a face hugger could attach it self to a Space Jockey.  ???

Yeah, I've always thought that.

Makes sense, seeing as the aliens seem to take the form of the host.
