Couple o' dummehs for ya'll.

What's with the Stretch Armstrong arms?

They werent really any longer proportionally to the body than the original's. Just thinner, as the whole body of the puppets

True. Just in that picture I quoted, the right arm in particular looks super long.

Yeah, it's strange lookin'. I snapped that from one of the outtakes in the Superior Firepower documentary, I think. Richard Landon does mention that they'd try to put the puppets into weird, inhuman poses before blowing the hell ot of 'em.

Still more convincing than any Alien shot in AvPR.
Truth.

Probably because of its position and the angle which makes it look like the hand is still an extension of the arm

is it true that sequence was reversed?

Don't think so, the water would be moving backwards.

No reverse shot. Stuntman emerged from the water and the tail was lifted via a piano wire.

What's with the Stretch Armstrong arms?

3 extra inches on the model for smooth maquette leverage.

Indeed it is, always loved those three shots. Especially the last one (which I'm continuously trying to emulate with my Revoltech Alien haha).
