No point really. Not intended to be 'an improvement' it's just an option to view the alien as it would have appeared in the film itself, dome in place, rather than waiting on set for it's final dressing.

The skull wasn't really supposed to be seen, so take it or leave it. Whichever you prefer.

It's interesting, but I prefer the original. It's just that glare combined with the position that does it. The face is crucial.

Prefer the original dome design over the 'shop job; love the opaqueness it has. Solid just isn't doing it for me.
