Go read more Lovecraft. Or simply consider the distinction between feel and appearence. :P Of course the Alien doesn't look like Cthulhu.
The first Alien has a great Lovecraft vibe into it - mainly in the part involving the Derelict. Theme of the unknown, of the mysterious, of the immensity that is in the universe and that we don't know a comma of. The Aliens are unknown and mysterious, we don't know where they are from, we don't know why they were in that ship, we don't know their purpose. They can be for the Jockeys what the Shoggoths are for the Ancient Ones, for example.
That is how I see it at least, if you don't share this, fine as well.

One guy from the JamesCameronOnline forum always posts plenty of rare pics (but only from Cameron movies) so I asked him for some from the others. Theyre all from some European sites as far as I know, German and French

Heres a good look at the Res Queen

That's a great Brett pic. Also, I've never been entirely sure if that classic alien pic above is from the Lambert death scene or approaching Ripley in the shuttle.

4 fingers on each mini hand? is this a new addition?

Perhaps. Since the Queen's smaller arms were reused arm props of the Alien Warriors, I assume they used the Resurrection Aliens' arms this time.
Or at least, they used the hands. The actual arms seem different.
I would like to know where the bigger ones went, though.
