Is it like a utility? Like gas and electric? You don't just buy a unit and that's it?

Having just spent twelve hours of a sixteen hour shift in an industrial retail freezer, summer cannot come quick enough

Instead of cooling the whole house, you might try buying a window AC unit for your bedroom.  They work well.

We have units in four rooms and are selective about when to use them.

But when it's 30+ in a poorly made house that turns into a sweat box in an instant, there's at least one unit running at any given moment during summer.

Do you run it at night so you can sleep?  Or are you still not sleeping and exhausted all the time?
