It keeps the framerate consistent so that it never goes above 60 FPS.

Depending on your refresh rate.

So yes, 60 fps on a 60 hz monitor. 75 fps on a 75hz monitor and so on.

This stops the monitor refreshing half of one frame and then half of the next as more frames are rendered then the screen can handle.

I'm not really playing anything anymore, I don't find MW2 appealing enough to sit down and play it, the only acceptable game mode to me is FFA since you don't need other people to back you up, and I always win in it because people are so terrible. That, and the terrible pings.

I'm hoping AvP3 will do the trick. I mean really, MW2 wouldn't have been bad at all if it just had dedicated servers, and AvP3 will have that.

Just beat Batman: AA on hard and Assassin's Creed.  Now I'm back to LBP.  I have been trying to play Half Life 2, but it doen't hold my attention long enough, too generic FPS.
