I don't see why they didn't just use the Forerunner look from 3. It's much more detailed than in CE, but it keeps the distinctive Forerunner look.

So, umm...You do know the guy/girl you play as in Halo Reach is not the Master Chief, right? And that Reach is a prequel to Combat Evolved.

Master Chief is currently floating around in space, as seen in the after-the-credits scene in Halo 3. Halo 4 picks up where Halo 3 left off.
