the aliens in this pic have the ridges on the tails, I noticed in the PAX footage the ridges are gone, kinda upsets me becuase those ridges are one of the few alterations from the first two films that I actually like.  :/

You're mistaken, there aren't the "fin" ridges on the tail in that pic. It LOOKS like there is on one of them, but it's a perspective thing - notice the end of the tail looks like it's going right at the camera, it's closer than the rest of the Alien is.

I dont think he is talking about the previously removed tail-sails but rather the bony skeletal look of the tails which is in the footage from PAX, its just dark and you can't really tell.
