Back before the films, this was so cool to see.  A movie quality image of the creatures in the same physical space.

Love the days when AVP was such a novel idea, before the films totally missed the mark.

It's so common to see a Predator holding an Alien up with one arm.  With the exception of the first AVP film, it's obvious who most artists and writers favor.  I wish they realized that if the Predator was that dominant, it wouldn't consider the Alien to be a worthy adversary. There would be no AVP.

Considering that's from AvP-R, I think it's a good shot.  The practical effects and lighting here help, because it is indeed a cliche and overused posed at this point...seeing it "practically" helps refresh it from the usual CGI art renditions of the pose.

Exactly!

Artists think in terms of iconic poses, when they should be thinking in terms of a truly vicious clash of the titans. Something nothing else could survive. The Predator and Alien need to be facing off as the ultimate opponents for one another.
