It is manipulated.  The "face" is a direct lift from the AvP imagery.

Ok, after seeing the alien wallpaper...
The alien wallpaper really does look like shit, and the alien and the predator wallpapers are re-used and photoshopped wallpapers from the first movie.
Fox is really trying to save money where they can.

Let's not over overreact here.  Only elements have been used.  It's not as though they're the exact same wallpapers with the new title slapped on 'em.

If nothing else, the new Alien's teeth are a gigantic improvement over the old one.  Those looked liked store-bought Dracula teeth painted silver.
