See at the bottom, what looks like half of another door, printed on shiny paper and hanging loosely onto the floor? That's the kind of stuff we're not supposed to see. My guess is they rushed the EW photographer in there right when half the crew was headed to lunch.

This lokks like they found a facehugger in there or something similar. It looks like a central body with tentacles/fingers on both sides and some kind of tail at the bottom

Well, I suppose the interest in the mysteries of the old Alien movie look as if they're getting more and more lost to me. Even looking at the old Sunday newspaper magazine articles showing big shots of the pilot chamber without a pilot were way more inspiiring than this "biomechanic" environment.
