Yes, for its "beliefs" and propaganda it can be violent in every aspect. But I don't know why the first one was so badly proclaimed. You have a standard weapons and your are some guy who goes on killing spree on closed map. Everybody can do the same in way more violent way in open world environment in games like GTA, Saints Row, Just Cause, etc.

I've been going through this phase with equipping Rosaries as sub-weapons. They fire like guns in a way.

Devout Beads - Rapid fire
Life Beads - Shotgun fire; all at once
Exorcism Beads - Rapid fire
Resurrection Beads - Shotgun fire; double shot
Tundra Beads - Rapid fire (I think, since you get them at the Ark of Yamato toward the end of the game)
