THIS EVENT WELCOMES ALIEN & BLADE RUNNER'S ASSOCIATE PRODUCER, IVOR POWELL,
AND THE TIMES' CHIEF FILM CRITIC, KATE MUIR

IVOR POWELL
Ivor Powell has had a varied and fascinating career in the film industry. He worked alongside the legendary Stanley Kubrick, overseeing publicity on 2001: A Space Odyssey and collaborating with various departments on the sci-fi classic. He was an assistant director on two Carry On films and production manager on a Peter Sellers drama, The Optimists of Nine Elms. Ivor was the associate producer on Ridley Scott's first three features, The Duellists, Alien and Blade Runner. The latter two, viewed as among the greatest sci-fi films of all-time, will certainly be discussed in this interview.

KATE MUIR
Kate Muir is the Chief Film Critic of The Times, covering weekly reviews and international festivals. Previously, she worked as a columnist for the newspaper in New York, Paris and Washington. She is the author of three novels: West Coast, Left Bank and Suffragette City. She was born in Glasgow and now lives with her family in North London. Kate often hosts events at which she interviews leading film-related figures.

I had the pleasure of attending an Empire event a few years back where Ivor Powell, Dennis Lowe and Jon Sorenson (I think) had a discussion hosted by Ian Nathan (Alien Vault) that was really interesting.
