Didn't catch the name:

I did that manip.  It was done very quickly, just to give an idea of what I was thinking.

Rusty Nails and I actually kept having fun with the image, changing the Alien's mouth and eventually slapping a dome on it at SM's request.  :)

S'funny, I spent many years as a "Brin back the ridged heads" guy, but these days I'm mostly a dome-boy.

I still love the ridged Aliens, but the dome is just such a great point of focus on the Alien...this gigantic, biomechanical monstrosity with a smooth, sleek dome.  It's just so out of place that it belongs.  Whereas the ridged head is more the kind of thing movie monsters usually have all the time.

Does that make any sense?

Cameron's ridge heads were well done because they sufficiently conjured up images of Giger-esque Aliens as well as the Jockey ship.

The ADI ones look more like earwigs - which is perfectly fine when covered by a dome.  Without - I'm not real excited.

Makes sense to me.
