Nah, I definitely get Rong's point of view. I don't share it in this particular situation, but I understand it completely.

Game of Thrones.

f**k the King indeed.

I somehow think he'd enjoy that.

I was reading that Jack Gleeson is going to quit acting after GOT, lol dont blame him, its a shame because he does so well at being unlikeable.

At least on film. As far as I understood, he's going to continue with his theater work.

Game of Thrones.

The more I hear people talking about it, the less interested I am. I watched the first two episodes of Season 1 and yeah, it was entertaining, but it didn't blow me away.

The people who talk about the show like they're blown away are the people that are invested in it. Don't expect to get blown away from the very beginning and I think you will come to enjoy it.

Yeah, what Shasvre said. It's definitely a slow-burner.
For what it's worth though, despite being fond of Game of Thrones, I've always been miffed that Thrones gained such massive popularity when concurrent (and in my opinion superior) The Borgias only ever found a modest audience. Same goes for Rome, actually, if we're talking about history/fantasy-blurring TV shows.

Figures. Thing is, the reason I never touched it in the first place was because it seems like a poor man's LotR. The entire time I watched those episodes, I was half-expecting a hobbit or wizard to pop up.

Sure, Game of Thrones has similar concepts I guess, with the fantasy worlds and shit, but the themes, characters, and plot complexity are so different it wouldn't be fair to compare the two.

Fair enough. I'm sure I'll get around to it...after I finish Mad Men.
